Low vs Diamond are an LA-based indie rock group with a penchant for Avalon-era Roxy Music. Lucas Field, Howie Diamond and Tad Moore formed Low vs Diamond as a jam band in Colorado in the early '00s. The band went through several name changes before settling on Low vs Diamond -- Colored Shadows and 1984 among them. Shortly after relocating to LA, the band enlisted a second guitarist and a bass player. The band was signed to Epic by John Hardisty, the same guy who discovered the Killers.
